White dust

11/18/05 6:15 A.M.
19 F, Cloudy, SSW wind 10 mph.

Good morning,

There is a dusting, about an inch, of snow outside this morning. Should clear off cloudy for the rest of the day, then more snow dusting, or possibly rain, overnight again tonight. Appears we are in a cycle of this kind of weather for the near future, with slowly warming temperatures before cooling off again next weekend.

With my discovery of deer hunting starting tomorrow, the memories of the good old days have been flooding back. If I were hunting this year, at this moment I would be somewhere northwest of Wausau on the way north. The most poignant memories are of the first year, 1967. Not only was it the year I shot my first deer, but started a chapter in my life I really enjoyed and learned a great deal. Someday I will get back up there again and swap some lies with the guys again.

Yesterday, returning from the post office in the afternoon, I watched a large buck trot across the Winding Road and into our part-time neighbor's woods just top the west of our driveway. Looked like a 6-8 pointer, probably one of two we saw on Sunday on the way home from church. Then we saw to bucks, one 6 point and the other 8 points, along with two doe in about the same area. Sure were pretty. Bet they taste good too.

The woodstove sure is having problems getting started this morning for some reason. The habit of picking up an armful of firewood on the way in has come back again. Have to get out and cut more wood too. One of the items on today's agenda. The really important item for today, is getting a fan hooked up under the furnace in the dining room. Not too sure if I will put one on the other furnace or not. Might just use convection to keep the room warm. Don't need it as warm as in there. Seemed to work well last night. Sure is a bunch quieter than the old furnace!

Time to get to other things.

In Christ My Saviour,

Chris <><
