We are totally flushed

Finally a little before 1:00 PM, the blockage let go. Hooray! It only took about 3 hours of pounding with the cable to finally get things going. As I came in for lunch, I ran the water for a bit and it still was plugged. I put the last of some drain cleaner in and let it sit while we ate. After lunch, I ran more water through and it still was blocked. About ready to go outside and all of a sudden I heard the wonderful sound of swosh! It let go. Just to be sure, I ran more water down and it kept going. While Margriet ran the water down the shower, I went out and watched - sure enough the water was a-coming. A real pretty sight.

I have left the cover off of the tank and covered the box opening with FEMA roofing for a day or so. Just to be sure. I will close it back up again in a day or so. The hardest part of the whole deal was bending over and pounding the cable back and forth. My back hurts, my knees hurt, and I have some muscles hurting, which have not for a long time.

Margriet is so happy that she can wash dishes normally again. Flush the toilet. And even take a shower again. All the joys of life.

Think I will go and take a shower. Maybe even shave.
