Smelly!

4:20 pm
25º F, Cloudy, NNE wind 6 mph.

The toilet seat has a new bolt in it. Finally got to Algoma about noon. Had to pick up a couple of things for Margriet, so used the opportunity to get the right one. As soon as I got back, it went on. At least one problem is solved today!

Margriet has been busy making mincemeat for pies. We intended to pick some up for Christmas dinner, but the cost is through the roof. We can buy a prepared pie for about a¼ the cost of enough mincemeat to make a pie with. Now we have 3 containers in the freezer and one ready to make a pie for New Year's. I figure the mincemeat is enough for one month! :-) She is rather proud of herself as it is the first time she has made it. I have to say the smell of it while being prepared was outstanding!

Just in from digging in the frozen mud. Enough for today! The insulating and covering of the dig area is starting to pay off. There is only a couple inches of frozen soil to break through now, compared to the 6-8" when I started. I also discovered that I insulated the sewer pipe a lot better than I though. Thought I had only laid down a 4 foot square area of insulation above the pipe. Turns out it is 4'x8'! That means the hole will be about twice the size I originally thought I needed to dig. Oh well .... what else do I have to do?

Meatloaf and baked potatoes for supper. Just in the oven, so expect it will start smelling rather tempting pretty soon!
