Good day to sleep

12/27/05 6:26 A.M.
30 F, Cloudy, SSW wind 3 mph.

Good morning,

It must be a good day to sleep - I did too late. I stayed up and watched most of the 10:00 P.M. news last night, which may have something to do with it. Not used to staying up that late! A real dreary day coming probably doesn't help any. The temperature is warm for this time of year, but it looks and feels like rain outside. Not a day to increase one's ambition.

We had Christmas dinner number two yesterday. Margriet re-heated the roulade and made a really good mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes. A really good meal. We also had the last of the wine with the meal. Oh yes, the sour cream apple pie is also gone. It was a good one. There still is some roulade left and I for one am looking forward to having some more of it.

Today we don't have Bible study, so are heading on a supply trip to Green Bay earlier than usual today. We don't have all that much to buy, but some necessaries to get. Probably will not go to too many stores, as there will be the "gift taker-backers" in most of them.

I did get out, but late in the afternoon, to do some digging. I found my pick (which really doesn't fit my hands very well) and used it to break up the frozen soil. When the pick hit it, many times it just bounced off! I couldn't believe it. Really didn't expect that. The frozen clay must be very dense. I did make some progress, but not as much as I would have liked. Not only is the frozen ground hard to penetrate, but I am trying not to poke holes in the sheet of insulation above the pipe. It does have a few hole in it now. I was hoping I would not have to get a new piece to replace it. Will pick up a clean out during our ride today, so I don't have to do the digging again. I hope.

Really didn't do all that much yesterday. Pretty laid back. But now it is time to get the day a-going. Dutch eggs and sausage for breakfast.

In Christ My Saviour,

Chris <><
