Back from the post office and computer guru in Algoma. Guru was not in, but left Margriet's computer and our email address so he will get back to us. Soon we hope. From there went to the post office in Algoma. There was a line of cars waiting for a parking space to get into the post office. Decided to go to Kewaunee instead and pick up our mail at the same time. When we got there, the place was empty! We only took in the packages going across the puddle, leaving the rest in the van in case we didn't have enough money along. As it turned out we had enough, but when I turned from the counter to get the rest, there were a half dozen in line waiting to do the same. Thought it would not be very polite to do that, so will drop them off when we need to get the computer. Or at least the next time we need to go into town again. We know this is the busiest day for the post office, but sure didn't expect to have a waiting line for parking spaces in the parking lot in Algoma.
The temperature has gotten up to 5 F above and should continue to rise more. The wind has not let up at all and really moves the van around on the road. Looking at the lake, there was a lot of "steam" rising from the open water spots. With the high winds, the ice doesn't have a chance to really form. Several miles out, you can see the snow falling! Cool!
In the mail I received a notice of the increase for my rocking chair money next year. We will have about $20.00/month more to spend each month. Probably the cost if living went up about $60.00/ month, but who is counting. Guess I will have to cut down my beer budget some!
Time for something else to do.
