More drippy

June 5, 2007 (4:59am)
49º F, Drippy, N wind, 10 mph.

Good morning,

A rainy day all day yesterday and it looks a bit drippy today, but not to the extent of yesterday. Highway U.S. 41 was closed south of Fond du Lac for most of yesterday with flooding. Some areas had water up to the headlights of semi-trucks! There were no one injured, but there were several vehicles stalled in the water before they could close the road. There were some areas in Green Bay also were flooded, but nothing dramatic.

The rains also curtailed the loading of the truck for our trip up nort’ tomorrow. I really didn’t want to load things wet and then lock them up in the truck for a couple of days. Guess we will have a long day today doing that. Every time I got ready to head to the storage unit, the rain started to come in quantity. Instead I did get some bills paid and some other "paperwork" finished that would not have been done.

I thought I had the Bible study worksheets for today’s study finished, but when I tried to print them out to duplicate, I discovered there still was some work to be done. Glad I looked to it early yesterday and was able to get it finished - then printed out. This one finishes chapter 13 of Matthew and the parables there. Think I will head toward Luke for the next parable group.

We did contact the fixed wireless ISP yesterday and they had good news. We do have the capability to use their system and at present plan too. They should be coming out on Thursday or Friday to set up the system, and hopefully, be up and operating shortly after that. We chatted with a conference call with a tech installing a system some where and the gal in the office. They didn’t have a schedule at hand, so when the tech gets back to the office, they will set something up and email me. If things work as we hope, we should be able to use the system for phone service too. At least for calls across the puddle.

Margriet baked some awesome bread yesterday. Three large and three small loaves of wheat bread. Boy is it good! Think I ate half of a large loaf before supper. Yum! We will probably take one to Bible study today for the folks to enjoy too. If there is some left that is. Most of it went into the freezer and we will take it along up nort’ with us.

I felt queer last night after supper (don’t think it was related to the fresh bread) so went to bed early, even for me. Slept poorly and got up about 2:00 A.M. for a couple of hours. Now I am up again and tired. Probably will be taking a nap before going to church this morning. I feel better now, just tired. Ain’t got time to be sick, so won’t be.

Time to get a-going.

In Christ My Saviour,

Chris ><>
