Good morning,
We have been watching the events in Scotland on the British TV thanx to the web. There certainly are a bunch of evil people in this world. Might makes right for some people it seems. Sometimes it is hard to see that God is really in control. There are many people that are happy the three devices didn’t work. People complain about all of the security in airports, but at least this time they worked in Glasgow, preventing much carnage.
What is amazing to me, is that we can watch TV from Europe, but not from our own country on the web. Seems this country is too interested in receiving the almighty buck. One really good thing about the British site is there is not advertising, other than for future programs on the TV. Really like that very much. Maybe we should learn something from them and have a couple of "national" stations as we do radio stations now broadcasting to the world.
We still don’t have hot water or the LP line totally connected. When I laid the line, I discovered that it was about 5' short! Seems I underestimated the about of line used to go to the backside of the tank. Thought I would have a couple of feet too much when I planned it. I had to do some more digging to create a "shortcut" toward the house, moving the existing line closer to the new one. That meant about 5' of digging up the old line mostly with a garden trowel. I really didn’t want to damage the line in anyway. Once that was done, I dug another trench connecting the two and laid both lines into it. When I connected the two lines, I discovered I needed a union so ... off to town to get one. Ended up in Iron River since the hardware store in Crystal Falls was closed. There was a short adapter in the line I intended to use, but when getting it ready, I discovered a wasp had built a nest inside of the line. There were about 8-10 segments, each with a larva inside, filling about 2" of the line. After spending some time cleaning it out, I didn’t use it after all. Oh well! Hope I will be able to connect to the tank today and turn it on - ultimately being able to take a hot shower. Hooray!
My lower back is really in bad shape thanx to all of the digging. It causes me to walk some katy-wumpus and limiting the time of actual work greatly. It is centered in the area I broke my back many years ago. Haven’t had a session like this for many years. Can’t stop working though as there just is too much to do before winter comes. One thing is getting wood cut for the woodstove. I have been eyeing the trees in the yard and surrounding, as to which need to be cut down. Have to limber up the chainsaw and get at it to allow the firewood to dry before using. There is a pretty good supply left here, but it ain’t enough for the winter. Think it might wait a couple of days though.
I had an email from Bram waiting for me this morning. His main message was that he has a website - http://www.arnoudvenema.nl/bram/ ! He is one ahead of us, we don’t have any. It is in Dutch, but the pictures I can understand very well.
We will be staying here at least until after the 4th. Not sure how much after at this point. I discovered that the 4th was Wednesday and we have Bible study on Tuesday. I really don’t want to drive on the 4th, so emailed church to cancel it this coming week most folks will have vacation plans and like that, so will probably be a light turnout in any case. Will give us a chance to get some things done here.
Time to get a-going.
In Christ My Saviour,
Chris ><>
