The long dig.

Good morning,
A bit warmer this morning and for a change, a bit of a breeze. Looks to be a bit cloudy and rainy for most of today. Rained off and on all day yesterday. A nice light soaking rain. Temperatures never got over about 65º F all day. If we get enough rain, we are really going to have a very large crop of blackberries. The woods are filled with them here. Might have some jam and or pie in the future. Remember as a kid picking them in the woods. Probably ate more than I brought back to camp for Mom to prepare. Also remember eating jam and sauce during the winters afterwards. Seems like pretty good and tasty memories to me!
Since it rained most of the day, it was a day of working inside rather than outside. Spent most of the day cutting apart some of the shelves and salvaging the iron. My supply of iron is growing with the additions of some bar stock and angle iron. Don’t know what exactly I will use it for yet, but am sure I will find some use for it. Have been cutting it apart in the back corner of the shop, but think I will pull it closer to the doors. The air gets a bit thick back there when grinding and cutting, and I can use the extra light from the open doors. Cleaner air there too, as well as easier to clean up.

As I printed out a letter to our friend in jail, the printer ran out of ink! I just bought some, but it is at FISKLAND and not here. At least I was able to get the letter printed in poor black, more like gray with some streaks in it. Looks like we will head to town today to get more. Have no idea where to go, so will find out when we get there. The printer doesn’t print envelops very well for some reason, so end up printing out 3-4 before actually getting one I am able to use. Need to pay some bills and do some other hard copy work, so need the printer.
Seems strange to have hot water now for two days! Showers again are really nice. Margriet has not yet used the range, rather using the electric frypan we bought. She finds it is much easier to clean than "normal" pans. It has a non-stick surface which helps. Waiting for her to use the range though. Want to see if it really works as advertised. Can’t wait for the good food that I know is going to come from it too.
There has been more activity at the neighbors place. Some folks have been

I am adding some pictures of the infamous trench I spent too many hours digging and then change. The first is taken from the tank toward the Hobbit Hus and the connection to the existing line. The distance is a bit less than 100' (enough less that I thought I had enough to connect to the tank) and a long hard dig.

The second picture is of the detour I had to make to correct the shortage of copper line. The original connection point is at the apex of the triangle, near the white concrete pad on the ground. The actual connection is along the hypotenuse of the triangle. The two lines, from house and from tank, are just visible, intertwined rising about 3' from the trench. The farthest part of the trench was more or less dug with a garden trowel to prevent damage to the line in the ground.
The third picture is the direction the line take to about the middle of the wall of the Hobbit Hus. As you can see I have started to clean some of the brush from behind the Hobbit Hus. The trees that are closest to the building will disappear before too long.
Time to get a-going.
In Christ My Saviour,
Chris ><>
